Project Tracking Overview¶
The Project Tracking module is used to monitor, manage, and execute project-based work across the organization. It provides visibility into customer work after a job has been created and allows you to:
-
Track project schedules and milestones
-
Manage task assignments and progress
-
Coordinate work across multiple departments
-
Ensure work is completed on time and in sequence
Project Tracking is commonly used for complex orders, engineered items, production workflows, or any work that requires coordination across multiple steps or resources. Each project contains a structured task list that defines what work must be completed and in what order.
Project Tracking can be accessed in several ways:
-
From a job that has an associated project
-
Through the Project List view
-
From dashboards and task-tracking tools
-
From responsibility-based task queues
The Project List acts as the central hub where you can view, search, and manage all projects in the system.
Typical Project Lifecycle
-
A Job is created and converted into a Project
-
Tasks are automatically generated based on the project type
-
Tasks are assigned to responsibility groups or employees
-
Work progresses through defined task stages
-
Project status updates in real-time as tasks are completed
Project Tracking ensures that all work is visible, traceable, and completed in the correct sequence — supporting on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
